What's on this week

Greetings techno warriors and travellers.....

The last couple of weeks has seen the Muddy camp spread around the country having much fun in venues and fields from Kent to Cornwall to Wales, and much fun it has been too. Time to bring it all back home again though.....and with the Glass Onion opening its doors for a little pre-Grand Opening bizzle again this weekend it's gonna be a busy one.

The Onion will be open for business serving fair trade goods as well as alcohol from 10am till 1am Friday to Sunday this weekend, in further preparation for the Grand Opening weekend which will take place on 15th to 17th September. Pop down and have a look and say hello.

So what a gwan in the boro this week?

Wednesday

Wednesday night is Pixie Folke night at Lisboa, 24 Lincoln Road. There's an acoustic open mic and open stage for acoustic jamming and entrance is free so pop down for a good time of music and friendly vibes.

Further afield Opaque and Point of Origin are playing the Cellar Bar in Oxford if you fancy a big long mission. This is the last out of town date on the Muddy live tour before the bands' return to the boro.

Thursday

The Muddy live tour is hitting Unity (at Lisboa) this Thursday. Opaque and the POO crew will be in full effect so nip down for the homecoming of these travelling minstrels. Doors open with an open jam session at 8pm and when the live stuff finishes the tour's resident DJ Urb will be kicking out his diverse and eclectic vibes and grooves. Entrance is only £1 to Muddy members or £2 to non-members.

Friday

The Glass Onion (2 Burghley Road) is opening its doors with another Friday night acoustic session. Entrance is free and as well as booked acts the stage is open for you to play on so bring your talents along. Music starts at 8pm.

Down the road in the Brewery Tap DJ Ollie Jones brings you "Soul Grooves" with music from the soulful side until the early hours. Entrance is free.

Saturday

The Glass Onion is open once again. DJ's will be playing laid back grooves to keep the place rocking softly and entrance is free so come down for a good night of fun, laughter and friendly company.

Meanwhile the POO crew (who are rather busy on their return to the boro) are in the Brewery Tap this Saturday night for an Acoustic session. POO's very own Abi & Stacey will play in their acoustic guise and their will also be an acoustic slot from another POO crew member Shaggy. Other special guests will be sprung on you on the night. Music starts at 9pm and entrance is free.

Sunday

Deep Roots and the Unity acoustic bods will be taking on Lisboa from 6pm on Sunday night for acoustic music and chilled out beats to finish your weekend smoothly. Entrance is free.

And of course the Onion bar is open all day from 10 am till 1am too..... :)

Monday

The Golden Lion in Stanground is hosting it's second Monday night unplugged session from 8pm. Pop down and see what's happening there.

and finally....

Only two weeks to go till the Onion Grand Opening, only three weeks to go till the Grassroots Equinox party - it's a very busy time in the Muddy camp at the moment!!

Peace love unity and respect
